Pissed Off
Jan. 6th, 2006 12:28 pmI am not a Bush hater. I think our president has made some mistakes, and I think his administration includes some reprehensible and devious people, but I can't think of a recent president I couldn't say the same thing about. I view the good and the bad of our current political climate (well, mostly bad), and I see rays of possibility peeking out from behind the dark clouds of our current system.
And then I read this shit. I call bullshit on Dubbya. He wants to declare himself an honest, upright citizen? He has to walk the walk, not just let some speech, written by members of his cabal, stutter out of his mouth. Either stand up and admit to the world you are willing to torture people, or stand by your decision and sign the law without creating executive power loop-holes.
I have some more robust thoughts about the direction our country is headed, and how our political system needs to change, but right now I am too angry to write anything articulate.
