Copag

Yeah, I said Copag. What ya gonna do?!

My Copag playing cards arrived today. They are plastic cards, meaning when someone spills beer or pop or pizza sauce or whatever on them, you can wash them off. No harm done. Also, they retain their shape even if some jackass nervously bends them after he goes all-in trying to represent the nuts. I resisted the urge to buy poker chips or a poker table, but when I considered the cost of buying paper playing cards ($2-$5 a deck) every time I hosted a poker night versus the cost of buying plastic cards and having them for 2+ years, I decided on the latter. Copag is also cool because they will send individual replacements cards.

So, I got a box of super cheap plastic poker chips from Walmart (I know, buying stuff from Walmart makes me feel icky too), and I scored 250 cheap chips from my late Nana's house this past weekend. We also got a dining room table with leaves, and I can cover that with some cheap felt. Voila, a poker table. There will be 9 or 10 players, so whoever wins will get $45 or $50, plus 2nd and 3rd places will pay out a little. Not bad for a friendly game.

Other stuff:
First taijutsu class at the new dojo is on Wednesday. I am nervous and excited. I hope I get at least one student.
Morgan and I were in PA all weekend, helping my mother with the estate sale at my late grandmother's house. An interesting experience, and certainly a positive one. The drive home was long, but Morgan and I had a good time travelling together.
The wedding is fast approaching. So much to do!
I was going to write up an extended review/exploration of Revenge of the Sith, but haven't had time. For now, I can say that Jessica Stover and I are of a similar mind on the matter.
